HOW IT WORKS

Electricity costs can make up a large portion of your monthly expenses. Even if you don’t produce 100% of the energy you consume, solar will reduce your utility bills. The best part is, once the system is paid off you are generating electricity for free. If you generate more electricity than you use, the utility company will have to cut you a check at the end of the year!

STEP 1

Solar panels contain solar cells, which have semiconductors that convert light into electrical energy. Direct current (DC) electricity is produced and routed to an inverter.

STEP 2

An inverter converts the electricity into alternating current (AC), which is used in consumer appliances, lighting, and heating and cooling systems.

STEP 3

Meters measure the amount of electrical energy produced by the panel and monitor performance of the system.

STEP 4

Electricity produced returns through the utility grid. The amount you produce will offset the cost of your utility bill.
